What is neglect and how does it apply to your life?

Neglect is defined by, Merriam Dictionary (2018), as failing to care for properly; the state or fact of being uncared for (Merriam Dictionary 2018).

There are many forms of neglect, too many for one blog post! We all neglect something at some point in our lives, it’s just the reality of it! We might not mean to but we do.  We tend to put things off for a later date to complete when we could just do it today!

Many of us neglect ourselves! Think about it! We neglect our physical health all the time. We rarely exercise and do not consume as much water and vitamins as we should. We avoid going to the doctor when we should.

Everyone neglects to take a mental break from time to time.  Mental health is just as important as physical health. Many of us fail to just take a break.  If you are not mentally prepared how do you expect to handle your daily encounters, or life itself?

How do you expect to find your purpose in life if you neglect yourself? You can’t think clearly if you fail to take care of yourself! That is why it is important to take the time and reflect on your daily encounters. Self-reflection is the best way to clear your mind of any leftover chaos from your day.

I encourage you to stop the neglect and heal yourself! You must be right mentally and physically along with spiritually to maintain your sanity in this crazy world. Stop neglecting yourself and take that mental break! Stop neglecting your physical body and exercise, eat right, and stay healthy! Stop neglecting your spirit and feed it positive vibes!

“Never neglect details. When everyone’s mind is dulled or distracted the leader must be doubly vigilant”

Colin Powell

” Those who have virtue always in their mouths, and neglect it in practice, are like a harp, which emits a sound pleasing to others, while itself is insensible of the music”

” Indifference and neglect are often much more damage than outright dislike”
