What are shortcomings, and how do they apply to your life?

Shortcomings are defined by Merriam Dictionary (2018), as n imperfection or lack that detracts from the whole; also the quality or state of being flawed or lacking ( Merriam Dictionary 2018).

Shortcomings are those things you are lacking in life, those things that you don’t do so well. Shortcomings can be considered a weakness, but I don’t believe that weakness is a bad thing, it just means that you still have room to grow.

Do you understand how shortcomings apply to your life yet?

Shortcomings apply because we all have them. Nobody is perfect, we all fall short somewhere. We all have faults and imperfections because we are human.

Everybody is imperfect in their own perfect way! We were all born to grow and learn, and we all have imperfections. We all have a purpose, we just have to find it! Shortcomings are areas in our life where we can learn to be better.

Shortcomings are not bad, they are opportunities to learn and grow as a person. I encourage you to find your purpose in life. We were all born for one, just because we have shortcomings, that doesn’t mean we stop having a purpose!

Look past your shortcomings! Those shortcomings are opportunities for you to change your approach to life and learn to accept, adapt and grow!

I encourage you to look at your shortcomings as opportunities for you to improve. Stop looking at your shortcomings as negatives. They are YOU, they are just as important as your strengths.

Embrace them!

Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character and goodness. People are just people, and all people have faults and shortcomings, but all of us are born with a basic goodness”

Anne Frank

“Even when we make mistakes, we hope others will love us in spite of our shortcomings – even if we don’t deserve it”

Joseph B. Wirthlin

“The God we serve does not seek out the perfect, but instead uses our imperfections and our shortcomings for his greater good. I am humbled by my own limitations. But where I am weak, He is strong”

Rick Perry
