What is insignificant, and how does it apply to your life?

Insignificant is defined by Merriam Dictionary (2018), as too small or unimportant to be worth consideration; without power or influence; meaningless (Merriam Dictionary, 2018).

How many things do you deal with on a daily basis that are insignificant? How many times do you get mad or stressed about things you can’t help? Those things are insignificant!

They are insignificant because they are not worth your energy! Those insignificant things are meant to distract you. They are tests and lessons at the same time!

Insignificant things take up too much of your time!

Do you understand how insignificant applies to your life yet?

Insignificant applies to your life because many of you are encountering insignificant things on a daily basis! You entertain those insignificant things and they prolong you from your purpose!

Those insignificant things prolong you because you are busy stressing or being mad at those things, so that stops you from growing! Understand your growth stops if you don’t learn the lesson. You continue to allow it to distract you by dwelling on you so it is a waste of your time, making it insignificant.

An example of a few insignificant things could be someone cutting you off on the road, and you responding with a few choice words, or someone being rude to you. You become rude back, or what about listening to someone gossip, and then you start gossiping about someone; the list can go on and on.

Insignificant things don’t seem insignificant at first, but as you reflect you can see, that some things we were stressed or upset about, we probably shouldn’t have been. They were a waste of our time! Who cares that someone cut you off in traffic! You both made it to your destination safely! Smile at the person being rude to you!

Why get mad at something when you can learn from it? Why stress about something you can’t change or fix! And if you can fix it or change it why stress about it, just fix it!

The waste of your time and energy is what is insignificant! Stop wasting your time!

I encourage you to stop allowing the insignificant things in your life to hinder you from your purpose any longer! Stop stressing over things you can’t change! Be happy you are alive!

Remember you were born for a purpose! I encourage you to stop wasting your time on insignificant things and find your purpose!

“There is nothing insignificant in the world. It all depends on the point of view”

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“We have a tendency to condemn people who are different from us, to define their sins as paramount and our own sinfulness as being insignificant”

Jimmy Carter

“Life is a series of steps. Things are done gradually. Once in a while, there is a giant step, but most of the time we are taking small, seemingly insignificant steps on the stairway of life”

Ralph Ransom
