What does “Be Still” mean and how does it apply to your life?
Still is defined by, Webster’s New World Dictionary (2018), as devoid of, or abstaining from motion; uttering no sound, quiet; free from noise or turbulence, calm (Agnes 2018).
Does the definition of still, help you understand how “being still” applies to your life? Not yet? Let me explain.
Be still means just what it says, be still. Stop for a moment and look around, look at the life you have been given. Being still means to remain positive, even when things are falling apart around you. Be still means to let things go and enjoying life, find peace. Being still is to stop resisting life and let it happen, stop being so anxious, and expecting things to happen a certain way. Be still and know whatever is going to happen is going to happen!
Life happens for a reason, you were born for a purpose, be still and enjoy it!
Have you ever been so busy in life you forgot to stop and enjoy the moment? Have you ever been so busy trying to fix something or avoid something that you forgot to be still and enjoy life? We get so busy we forget how to be still, we forget to take a moment to enjoy life. We forget, we have a purpose, not just a bunch of titles.
So many times in life we allow our emotions to get the best of us. We want what we want when we want it. Many of us do not have patience, we are so anxious about situations that we allow the drama into our lives. I encourage you to be still, know your creator, and know what you were born for! Let life happen!
There is a bible verse that states “Be still and know that I am the Lord; I will fight your battles, all you need is to be still.” This helps me better understand the statement “Be Still“. It means that we need not worry about the stresses of life. We should not be arguing or allow strife into our lives. All we need to worry about is being still and knowing that our creator will fight our battles.
Be still and listen to what the universe is telling you. Be still just for a moment, and you will begin to understand yourself and life. You will let all of the nonsense in your life go. When you do this you will develop wisdom and grow into what you are destined to become.
I encourage you to “Be Still” and enjoy the life you have been given. Let your creator work the drama out in your life. Do not get involved in battles that will hinder you from your destiny. You were born for a purpose, I encourage you to find it!
“Learn how to be still, to really be still and let life happen. That stillness becomes radiance”
“The self must know stillness before it can discover its true song”
“When the mind is left with nothing to cling to, it becomes still”
